Ingredients of Sugar Cookies
- It’s 1 cup of white sugar.
- You need 1/2 cup of brown sugar.
- It’s 2 1/2 cup of flour.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of butter, ONE STICK.
- You need 2 each of eggs.
- You need 1 tsp of salt.
- It’s 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
- You need 1 tsp of baking soda.
- You need 1 tsp of nutmeg (optional).
Sugar Cookies step by step
- Mix butter and sugars together until creamy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract.
- Mix flour, baking soda, (nutmeg if desired), and salt together. Add to wet mixture..
- Mix well, cover and refrigerate for at least one hour..
- Scoop out small amount and roll into a ball. Roll in sugar (and cinnamon for snickerdoodle) and place onto parchment lined cookie sheets. (if no parchment, I simply buttered the sheet after each use.).
